Trei persoane au muri iar alte circa 170 au fost rănite după ce o tornadă a afectat capitala Cubei, Havana. Fenomenul a fost atât de puternic încât mai mulți copaci au fost smulși din rădăcină, iar firele energiei electrice au fost rupte, viteza vântului fiind de până la 100 km / oră. Totul a avut duminică, 27 ianuarie, potrivit BBC.
Președintelui Miguel Diaz-Canel sa întâlnit cu echipaje de urgență și a declarat că pagubele sunt grave.
Mai multe imaginile postate pe o rețea socială arătat că casele au fost distruse iar camioanele s-au răsturnat. În urma acestuia, mai multe persoane au fost evacuate de la un spital de maternitate din Hijas după ce a fost deteriorat.
Ulterior, o stradă din cartieul Luyano a fost blocată, după ce un balcon a fost avariat.
„Noi suntem zonă turistică afectată de fenomenul atmosferic de mare intensitate. Daunele sunt grave“, a spus Diaz-Canel pe Twitter.
În Cuba mai sunt prognozate vânturi puternice și condiții de furtună în vestul țării.
