Noi confruntări s-au produs luni în Hong Kong între Poliţie şi manifestanţi în timpul ceremoniilor dedicate marcării a 22 de ani de la retrocedarea teritoriului către China, potrivit Mediafax.
Şefa Executivului, Carrie Lam, puternic contestată de către cetăţenii din Hong Kong după prezentarea în Parlament a unui proiect de lege care ar fi permis extrădarea cetăţenilor către China continentală, a fost prezentă la ceremonii. Poliţia a fost nevoită să folosească gaze lacrimogene şi bastoane de cauciuc pentru a dispersa protestatarii.
De asemenea, un grup format din zeci de protestatari a încercat să intre cu forţa în sediul Guvernului local, iar poliţiştii au fost nevoiţi să intervină pentru a-i împiedica, inclusiv prin utilizarea gloanţelor de cauciuc. Protestatarii au folosit mai multe obiecte din metal pentru a sparge uşile de la intrarea în clădirea guvernamentală.
